Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Stamford Parade of Lights

Once you've got all your holiday shopping done, head down to the Stamford Harbor Parade of Lights! Kick off the holiday season by decorating your boat and joining the fun.

The parade begins at 6pm with an after party and awards ceremony at Crab Shell. WABC-TV's Dr. Bill Evans, LHD will be the ceremony's MC!

JOIN US for the 2013 Stamford Urban Scavenger Race!

Get to know your city... one clue at a time!

If you enjoy competition, the thrill of the hunt, helping out non profits, and have some free time on Saturday October 5th - then you should come join us for the second-annual Urban Scavenger Race right here in Stamford!

All you need is a team and some creativity (who doesn't want to win the Team Costume Contest?), some excitement wouldn't hurt either! The local Stamford Patch explains:

Teams of two or more are encouraged to dress up creatively for their trek through the city, and there will even be a contest before the hunt itself for best costume.

On Saturday, October 5, registrants this year will meet at Hotel Zero Degrees, the race's location sponsor, at approximately 10:15 a.m. At 11 a.m., the scavenger hunt will get underway and racers will have about four hours to find as many locations around the city as possible. Sometimes it will be grabbing a picture together in front of a statue, other times, they'll have to grab a photo proposing to a stranger on a public street, other times it will be eating a bowl of hot wings at a participating restaurant along the trek.

Teams can register for about $50 per person so rally your friends, family members, co-workers, neighbors, whoever and sign up now! A portion of the proceeds will benefit local nonprofit, Child Guidance Center of Southern CT.
